Building Material obtained from Volcanic ash and debris
Rainstorms and pyroclastic flows have transported volcanic
material from the volcanic core to the Belham River. This material
has covered the road and all but eliminated the river. The golf
course has been destroyed. However, the volcanic material is now
used for a variety of purposes on Montserrat, such as manufacturing
concrete. |

The rocks and stones in the Belham River valley
have travelled down from the volcano. They are transported to the
north of the island where they are used for a variety of purposes.
It is hoped to use the volcanic rock to manufacture roofing slates. |
