We were introduced to the idea of looking at our local area. We focused on local features, land use and environment.

We understand the variety of features that form part of our local area; we understand the part people play in developing and changing our area.

We used this unit to develop our geographical ideas and skills by studying our own locality.

We described a range of physical and human features of our locality; we used appropriate geographical terms; we offered appropriate observations about locations and patterns in the area; we identified how people affect the environment and recognised ways people try to manage it for the better; we used a range of secondary sources and first-hand enquiry.
