How
were our 360 Virtual Tours made?
The photographer came to our school and used a special
camera with a big fish eye lens. He took lots of photos
of our school - outside photos of the playgrounds
and gardens, and inside photos of the classrooms, shared
areas and other rooms in school.
He then did some magic with the pictures and made them
into a virtual tour which are fantastic.
The photos of our school all come out as a circle! This
is because the photos for the virtual tour are taken
with a fisheye lens.
In photography, a fisheye lens is a wide-angle lens that
takes in an extremely wide, hemispherical image.
Originally developed for use in astronomy and called
"whole-sky lenses", fisheye lenses quickly became
popular in general photography for their unique,
distorted appearance. They are often used by
photographers shooting broad landscapes to suggest the
curve of the Earth.

The camera is on a tripod. A tripod has three legs and
supports the camera so that it does not wobble.
