We have strong links to Brades Primary School on the tiny Caribbean Island of Montserrat.

In 1996 the island suffered a massive volcano eruption which covered two thirds  of the island in a thick and suffocating layer of ash. 

The capital town of Plymouth was buried, so too was the only airport.

Some of the population left, and the remainder of the people live in one third of the island.

Jennifer Benson has spent a year working as a volunteer at Brades Primary School. She thoroughly enjoyed her year and made many resources for the school as well as working with the children.

She enjoyed the experience so much that she returned 2 years later and spent a further month.

Jennifer worked at Brades school again and also helped at the summer school holiday club at Look Out school.
